More and more people are discovering the 30A area as both a vacation destination and as a highly desirable place to live, work, play, and raise their families. Ten to fifteen years ago, it wasn’t uncommon for businesses to close during the “off season” (traditionally Labor Day to March 1); but now, due to a full line-up of nearly year-round concerts, major events, art fairs and festivals, the “shoulder seasons” are becoming more and more narrow. Help Shape the Style of the 30A Communities!

The local Tourist Development Council (TDC) for South Walton is looking for the public's help in deciding the future of 30A's distinctive style. You could have a hand in shaping the way future generations experience this beautiful section of the Northwest Florida gulf coastline.

Visit Walton County recently welcomed a team from R-A-M Professional Group to help decide the future of the community's public spaces. The group will ultimately be responsible for producing a Design Guide that is meant to direct the artistic vision of key public features in the area including signage, walkovers and landscaping.

Living on South Walton’s Coastal Dune Lakes

The lakes located along Scenic 30A’s 18-mile stretch of road are unique and special, not only to South Walton and Northwest Florida but they hold a very unique distinction. Classified as Coastal Dune Lakes because of their close proximity to our beautiful white dunes and the gulf, these local treasures are extremely rare and only exist in five other places world-wide. A beautiful, award-winning PBS documentary on the Coastal Dune Lakes was released earlier this year and has already been featured in several film festivals.

Thanksgiving 30A Style

Celebrating Seaside Post Office's 30th Anniversary!

Seaside, FL - On October 23rd, locals, town merchants and curious visitors gathered in front of one of Scenic 30A's most iconic spots to commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the Seaside Post Office.

Built in 1985 during a time when Scenic 30A was much less developed; the post office was intended to serve as a landmark. It would become popular gathering place and a way to provide a "sense of place" for the fledgling new community.

Situated literally in the geographical center of Seaside, the post office was designed by the town's founder, Robert Davis.

Summer 2015 came and went quickly and it’s hard to believe that it's nearly a memory. Fall is just around the corner and a “primo” time to be at the beach! We have gorgeous sunsets over the gulf, milder temps, lower humidity and a slower pace to the day. It just doesn’t get much better than that!
