The newest ReSeagrove Beach Regional Beach Accesss Locationgional Beach Access to Seagrove Beach will be located across the street from Café Thirty-A. This project is still in the design and permitting phase and as of this date is 85% complete. The next phase will be construction of the new access with an estimated eight to ten months to finish. The current target time for completion would be that that new beach access will be ready for use by Fall 2021.

 

The Walton Dunes Regional Beach Access, which is located on Beachfront Trail, is currently in the permitting and design phase. Conceptual design plans for the project were approved by the Walton County Board of County Commissioners earlier this year. As currently planned, this regional beach access will have approximately16 parallel parking

The real estate market in South Walton and along 30A is extremely active right now. And, well priced properties that are in “sale ready” condition typically go under contract and are selling more quickly than previous recent years. A recent market study we did revealed that:

  • 41%    of the homes that sold this year, went under contract and closed in 45 days or less.
  • 35%    more properties have sold year to date as compared to the same time last year.
  • 20%    average sales prices increase over  2019  year-to-date sales.

Last week we took a look at how the 30A real estate market is doing with Single Family Home activity. This week we dive into to the 30A Condo market and again want to see if data and numbers reflect if how we are feeling about the market matches what is actually happening.

An Insider’s Peek Into The Current 30A Real Estate Market

We know it feels busy in our market right now with a definite increase in buyer interest and more home showings,  But simply “feeling” busy does not give us a true picture of the reality of our real estate market along 30A. So, we took a look back at last week’s activity to see what took place to see if how we are feeling about the market matches what is actually happening.

The Lodge 30A

 

Short term lodging along the coastal road, affectionately referred to as “30A” in South Walton Florida has been limited primarily to homes and condos for vacation options. With a few exceptions, travelers seeking nightly lodging accommodations along the beaches of 30A have been confined to staying in neighboring communities of Miramar Beach, Destin, or Panama City Beach.

That will be changing in the near future.  Recently the St. Joe Company announced a joint-venture partnership with MidGrove Center to build an 87-room boutique hotel located in the heart of Seagrove Beach Florida. We are in the “dog days of summer” when things usually begin to slow down here at the beach. Visitors and families are traditionally returning to their homes to gear up for a new school year. The RED BAR - Grayton Beach FL

In the early morning hours of February 19, 2019 tragedy struck in Grayton Beach when the Red Bar caught fire and burned to the ground. The Petit family, owners of the famed local bar, vowed to rebuild using the same footprint of the former building and that intended to come back stronger and even better.

Last week, only 17 months following the fire, the doors to the iconic REDBAR reopened fulfilling the Petit’s promise to their customers, staff and employees.

Walton County Schools Fall Reopening Plan
