Exciting news is on the horizon for all you Golf enthusiasts! The team at Watersound Club is collaborating with the legendary Davis Love III and his design firm, Love Golf Design, to bring you a brand-new gem on the greens of Northwest Florida's Emerald Coast - "The Third."
Why "The Third," you ask? Well, it's a nod to both the golfing maestro himself, Davis Love III, and the fact that it's the third championship golf course in the Watersound Club lineup.
The Third will sprawl over approximately 300 acres just north of the Shark's Tooth course - a vast canvas for the design team to whip up a golfing experience that's a perfect mix of pleasure and challenge for players of all skill levels.
Featuring an 18-hole, Par 72 design with six sets of tees, allowing you to tweak the course distance from a cozy 4,900 yards to a whopping 7,600 yards on a snappy, fast-playing course. Whether you're a casual swinger or a pro teeing off from the back, The Third's got something for everyone.
The Third joins the star-studded Watersound Club lineup, boasting exclusive amenities like Shark's Tooth and Camp Creek golf courses, the beloved Watersound Beach Club, and the freshly minted Camp Creek amenities. It's the place to be for the 3,100 members from 40 states who are loving the Watersound Club vibe.
Watersound Club has seen a surge in membership, adding over 500 new members in 2023. Patrick Murphy, St. Joe's Senior Vice President of Hospitality, says, "We're blessed with land and resources that are hard to come by elsewhere in the U.S. We're committed to making the most of it for our Watersound Club members."
Leading the charge at Love Golf Design is none other than Davis Love III, a golf legend with a World Golf Hall of Fame induction under his belt. The man's got 27 completed projects in Love Golf Design's portfolio, and with The Third, they're looking to outdo themselves by seamlessly blending upland vegetation and undisturbed wetland areas into the course layout.
Construction is already underway, and we're aiming to tee off on The Third in 2025. And hey, if you're eyeing a spot near this golfing paradise, stay tuned because St. Joe is cooking up some plans for residential homesites in the vicinity.
