September at the beach usually means thinner crowds, with summer temperatures beginning to dip. But this month, we’re still feeling like a ‘cat on a hot tin roof’!

While it may still be hot, there are plenty of ways to chill out and have fun over the next few weeks along the beaches of 30A.  We've put together a lineup of events you won't want to miss before the Fall festival season begins:

Get Creative During Art Month In Walton County

Ignite your creative spark with a month-long celebration of the arts!

Deer Lake State Park Re-Opens!

Since last August, Deer Lake State Park has been closed for improvements, but the nearly 2,000-acre state park re-opened this week with new parking for cars, bikes, golf carts, new picnic areas, and restrooms.

For many years, this beautiful state park went unnoticed by most visitors. In fact, at one point, this secluded spot was known as the area's unofficial nude beach! In recent years, efforts to revitalize interest in the park have happened through non-profit organizations like Friends of Grayton Beach & Deer Lake State Parks.

The trailhead and entrance to the state park are in Seagrove Beach, nestled between two other Coastal Dune Lakes, Eastern Lake, and Camp Creek Lake. A .3-mile dune walkover provides incredible views of Deer Lake and the…

September Fall Events On 30A

Fall is just around the corner! And there will be plenty of fun things to do throughout the season on the beaches of 30A and South Walton. Here are a few activities scheduled for the rest of this month. Check back each month for more!

The Emerald Coast Theater is Celebrating 10 Years with “An Enchanted Evening” by Grand Boulevard at Sandestin. Friday, September 16, 5:30-9:30 pm.
