Beach Driving Lottery Applications Accepted April 1 - May 10
Walton County will begin accepting Beach Driving Lottery Applications for the 2023 Lottery on April 1, 2023.

Applications will be accepted through May 10, 2023, and will be accepted by mail, in-person, or online. Applicants must be full-time Walton County residents and meet all requirements as outlined in Ordinance 2022-02. Applications will not be accepted unless all eligibility requirements are met and all documentation is provided at the time of application submission. Incomplete applications will not be eligible for the lottery drawing.

To apply, visit: Code Compliance Beach Permits

Beach driving is primarily allowed at Grayton Beach near the Red Bar restaurant and in Inlet Beach at the end of South Walton Lakeshore Drive. The Inlet Beach location is seen as more of a drop-off point for boat launching since no parking is available at this location. An additional permit is required for launching a boat at either location.

Only 150 beach driving permits are available to county residents and property owners. The Walton residents chosen will pay the required fee for the one-year permit. Grandfathered permits are available to Walton residents and property owners who had a permit before the lottery system started. But failing to renew their permit will revoke the grandfather privileges, and they would have to enter the lottery the next year.
