Beach Access Improvements Continue Across 30A

Walton County continues investing in beach access, parking, and infrastructure as we move toward spring and summer. Beginning March 1, expanded Beach Tram routes will improve connectivity along 30A, while major public access projects in Grayton Beach and Seagrove move closer to completion.

Here’s what’s happening.

Expanded Free Beach Tram Service Launches March 1

Walton County Tourism is expanding its free Beach Tram service to better connect municipal parking facilities with regional beach accesses and ease congestion at crowded locations.

393 Municipal Parking Facility (MPF)

Starting March 1, service from 393 MPF will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with two route options:

A-to-B Route: Direct service to Ed Walline Regional Beach Access, departing every 10 minutes.
West Route: Stops at Dune Allen RBA and Fort Panic RBA, departing every 15 minutes.

This expansion adds much-needed flexibility for West 30A visitors and helps distribute parking demand more evenly across access points.

Grayton Beach Municipal Parking Facility (MPF)

The existing A-to-B Route will continue running daily from 6 a.m. to 9:45 p.m., providing direct service every 10 minutes to the corner of Hotz Avenue and Garfield Street.

Beginning March 1, a new West Route will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with stops at:

Blue Mountain RBA
Gulfview Heights RBA
393 MPF

Departures will run every 15 minutes, creating improved east–west connectivity along the corridor.

These updates are part of an expanded effort to improve mobility while protecting neighborhood access and beach experience.

Grayton Beach Community Center Under Construction

Located at 44 Hotz Avenue, the new Grayton Beach Community Center is currently under construction and expected to be completed in March 2026.

This 1,600-square-foot beachfront facility is intended to serve both residents and visitors. Once complete, it will include:

A local information station featuring historical area footage and community history
Public restrooms
A 360-degree observation deck
Rinse showers
A boardwalk connecting to the beach and tying into the Garfield Street boardwalk
Direct access to the Beach Tram

Construction began in May 2025 and is progressing as planned.

Seagrove Regional Beach Access Nearing Completion

The new Seagrove Regional Beach Access, located in the heart of Seagrove, is nearly complete.

In addition to upgrading public access, the project includes meaningful infrastructure renovations — most notably an expansive stormwater exfiltration system designed to capture runoff from surrounding neighborhoods.

Other features include:

23 parking spaces (including ADA and bicycle spaces)
A 1,011-square-foot restroom facility
ADA-accessible dune walkover with rinse showers
Connectivity to the multi-use path

Construction began in July 2024, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony expected soon.

Access and infrastructure remain central to 30A’s future. Expanded tram service and new beach access improvements help manage growth while protecting the experience that makes South Walton special for residents and visitors alike.
