South Walton Beach Access & Parking Projects Update

Did you know there are more than 50 beach, bay, and lake access points in South Walton? The types of access vary from Regional Beach Access (including parking, restrooms and showers, and ADA-compliant boardwalks) to Neighborhood Beach Access (for walk-up traffic access), and Bay & Lake access with boat ramps and restrooms. Currently, there are 9 Regional Beach Access points ----with one more coming soon, just south of Cafe Thirty-A---- and 43 Neighborhood Beach Access points scattered all along 30A. To view all current beach, bay & lake access locations, go to visitsouthwalton.com 


Coming soon to Gulf Place is a large parking area with transportation facilities, similar to what is planned at Grayton Beach. Seaside is already offering their guests and employees daily complimentary shuttle services to and from the Grayton location.

INLET BEACH

Camp Creek Lake Public Access - This Coastal Dune Lake Access project is to be located on the east side of Camp Creek Lake, north of 30A. The public access facility will include a canoe-kayak launch, parking, paths, landscape, and hardscape. A task order has been sent to continuing services contractor for the design/permit proposal. Design/permit efforts are expected to take approx. 8 months, construction to take approx. 3 months.


SEAGROVE BEACH

Across from Café Thirty-A - The proposed beach access across from Café Thirty-A is approximately 95% complete through the design/permit phase. The development order application is currently under review. Construction is expected to begin by late summer 2022.

258 Beachfront Trail - Efforts are underway to enhance the Walton Dunes (258 Beachfront Trail) beach access and the project is working its way through the design and permitting phase. Construction is expected to be delayed until fall 2022. Improvements will include 14 parallel ROW parking spaces, restrooms, and an ADA-accessible boardwalk. 

Eastern Lake Road - This parking project is located at 407 Eastern Lake Road in the Seagrove neighborhood. As part of the design and permitting phase, plans will include 16 +/- parking spaces, 12 golf cart parking spaces, and a bike parking area. Construction is expected to begin by summer 2022. A development order application is currently under review. A sidewalk from 30A to the Eastern Lake neighborhood beach access was added to the project.


GULF PLACE

County Road 393 – The 2.3-acre parcel is located north of Gulf Place Town Center on the west side of County Road 393. The design and permitting phase are currently ongoing. Plans include 90+/- parking spaces, dedicated RV, golf cart, and bike parking areas, a public transportation building and restroom facilities, as well as connectivity to the multi-use path.


GRAYTON BEACH

County Road 283 - Also referred to as the “Grayton Central” parking lot, is 6.995-acres and is located on the eastern portion of County Road 283 South, across from the Shoppes at Grayton. This property is currently designated for parking used by visitors to Grayton Beach, employees, and patrons, as well as a shuttle location for Grayton Beach, Seaside, and other nearby businesses. Plans call for the facility to have 180+/- parking spaces, dedicated RV, golf cart, and bicycle parking areas, restrooms, and public transportation facilities.
