Our beautiful beaches of 30A! When it's pretty to look at ---but do not touch!

As beautiful as our 30A beaches are, Mother Nature sometimes brings in high surf and rip tide conditions.  When these conditions occur then swimming and other water activities can be dangerous and sometimes life threatening! If you're  a visitor or new resident to South Walton and 30A  and you see DOUBLE RED FLAGS are flying at the beach access it is unsafe to get in the water. That means our beaches are open but the WATER is CLOSED to activities. and choosing to do so can put your life, those you love, life guards and first responders at risk.

According to the South Walton Fire District's Facebook page, we are CURRENTLY under DOUBLE RED FLAG conditions for the remainder of this week.   Walton County EMS, first responders and life guards responded to  20 distress calls made on Tuesday (March 16th) due to dangerous surf conditions.

Walton County Sheriff's Department and Code Enforcement Department will be monitoring the beaches during Double Red conditions.  Those individuals who choose to disregard the flag warnings will be issued $500 citations for violating the Double Red Ordinance.
