Seaside, FL - On October 23rd, locals, town merchants and curious visitors gathered in front of one of Scenic 30A's most iconic spots to commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the Seaside Post Office.
Built in 1985 during a time when Scenic 30A was much less developed; the post office was intended to serve as a landmark. It would become popular gathering place and a way to provide a "sense of place" for the fledgling new community.
Situated literally in the geographical center of Seaside, the post office was designed by the town's founder, Robert Davis.
The Seaside Post Office Today
Thirty years later the post office still serves its original purpose. It is also, no doubt, the most photographed building in Seaside and most likely the most photographed post office in the country.
A commemorative 30th Anniversary postage stamp is available for purchase at the Seaside Post Office with a portion of the proceeds going toward supporting the iconic landmark.
