South Walton's Beach Access & Parking Updates
This upcoming fall and winter, construction will begin on three new parking areas and beach access points at Seagrove Beach; and extensive parking with public transit just north of Gulf Place.
One of the new locations coming to Seagrove will be a Regional Access Point, which includes seasonal lifeguards, ADA-compliant boardwalk, restrooms, and parking -- making two Regional Access points for Seagrove Beach. (The other location is south of Santa Clara Ave.)
The following are new and renovated locations: (click below to view locations on a map)
- Seagrove Regional Beach Access (located across from Café Thirty-A) is nearly through the design/permit phase. Improvements will include 21 +/- parking spaces, dedicated bike parking, restroom facilities, and a beach boardwalk. Construction is expected to begin this fall with a completion date of summer 2022.
- Santa Clara Regional Access renovation/replacement of the ADA accessible boardwalk is complete, including new bike and golf cart parking areas, site lighting, landscaping, and hardscaping.
- Walton Dunes Efforts to enhance the beach access and improve parking at 258 Beachfront Trail are in the design and permitting phase. Improvements will include 16 parallel ROW parking spaces, restrooms, and an ADA-accessible boardwalk. Construction is expected to begin this winter with a completion date by late summer/early fall 2022.
- The Eastern Lake Road Parking Project consists of two neighboring parcels, located south of 30A at 392 and 406 Eastern Lake Road. As part of the design and permitting phase, plans will include 16 +/- parking spaces, 12 golf cart parking spaces, and a bike parking area. Construction is expected to begin late winter 2021 and be completed by summer 2022.
- The County Road 393 parcel is 2.3-acres and is located north of Gulf Place Town Center. As part of the design and permitting phase, plans will include 90+/- parking lot, public transit, and a restroom facility; a dedicated RV, golf cart, and bike parking areas, and connectivity to the multi-use path. Construction is expected to begin in early winter 2021 and be completed by summer 2022.
