Santa Rosa Beach, FL – A local organization known as “A Better South Walton” (ABSW) will hold two Town Hall meetings to update the community on progress for a proposed initiative to establish a new municipality in Walton County. Defuniak Springs, Freeport and Paxton are currently the only incorporated communities in Walton County. According to the groups’ website the mission of “A Better South Walton” is to seek more effective governance and local representation for South Walton to preserve and enhance its unique character, property values and quality of life.
“With the community’s feedback, we will incorporate those ideas and suggestions into a final charter summary that will define South Walton. It has never been more important to have the community to join us for our town hall meetings; we want to hear what you have to say.”
David Pleat, President of A Better South Walton
Planned Topics for the Town Hall Meetings Include:
- The Charter Summary and its framework for the proposed municipality
